Lead Structural Engineer-Aircraft Modifications

This position requires a strong, motivated and detailed structural analyst who can independently make decisions on engineering problems and methods. The Lead Structural Engineer must also be able to communicate effectively with co-workers, customers and the FAA to plan work and resolve technical issues. The qualified candidate will offer, as a minimum, the following key technical skills and experience:

  • 5-8 years of structural analysis experience
  • Strong command of classical hand-analysis techniques
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in airframe structural analysis
  • Ability to interpret design drawings of various aircraft modifications and identify design changes required to insure that sound load paths and structural integrity are maintained
  • Ability to generate thorough, detailed, yet concise structural analysis reports.
  • Finite Element Modeling and Analysis capability
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
The following experience/software capabilities are also desired:

  • Fatigue and Damage Tolerance Analysis experience
  • MathCAD
  • NASTRAN/Femap
  • NASGRO
  • AutoCAD
  • Microsoft Word and Excel
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in the aerospace industry.
